Will the average monthly price per kWh of electricity in the U.S. break $0.40 before the end of 2030 (doubling recent values)?

Prediction market on metaculus. **This question will resolve positively if any month sees a price of \$0.40 or higher**. We use this question to proxy for supply constraints in the electricity sector. We draw [data from FRED](https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/APU000072610#). In April 2026, the price per kWh was \$0.194.
