Politicians' and insiders' option trades get their own tab

Political Alpha and Insider Alpha each have a new Options tab. Call and put trades that used to look like ordinary stock buys and sells are listed as contracts, with strike, expiry, days left, contracts, where the stock stood against the strike then and now, and an estimated return. The Copy button on a contract opens it in the Universal Trading Engine, where you review it before any order is sent.

What changed

• A View column labels each trade bullish, bearish, hedge or income, and option trades no longer count toward a politician's stock win rate.
• In Insider Alpha you can switch between listed options, compensation options and all derivative lines, with the premium where the filing states one.
• Political Alpha returns are estimates, because congressional disclosures give a dollar range rather than the price paid. Contract prices are refreshed once a day after the US market close.
• Copy, and the Options button on option trades in the Political Alpha feed, are part of the Premium and Quant plans. If the exact contract is not listed, the nearest listed strike and expiry are used.
